Walmart has launched a new scheduling app that it says will improve customer service while giving its own employees more predictable and flexible scheduling options.
My Walmart Schedule enables associates to view schedules, swap shifts with other associates and pick up unfilled shifts. They can also pick up shifts to work extra hours above what they are scheduled, if they choose.
“In stores where the new system was tested, associates reported that they enjoyed learning different parts of the store,” Walmart says. “Once associates are trained in a certain skill, they can simply go into the app and pick up shifts.”
Walmart says My Walmart Schedule will be up and running in all Walmart stores in the US at the end of this month.
