Pure Flavor, an Ontario greenhouse vegetable grower, has acquired Leamington, Ont.-based Cervini Farms C5.
Cervini Farms’ facility is adjacent to Pure Flavor’s home farm.
Pure Flavor president Jamie Moracci says the acquisition is a way to strengthen its “strategic footrpint. Increasing our owned acreage helps facilitate our growth alongside our grower partners and supports our need of scaling up our operations to drive efficiencies.”
Jeff Moracci, CFO and partner of Pure Flavor, says the acquisition was a “competitive process which drew much interest from the industry, yet in the end our group demonstrated an ability to transact this deal in an efficient, transparent, and authentic manner.”
The company says it plans to continue to grow and will consider other opportunities to scale up and says expansion plans are “ongoing” as it looks to develop more region-specific facilities and explore new product opportunities.
Pure Flavor recently completed the construction of a 40-acre organic greenhouse and a 210,000 sq ft centralized packhouse and distribution centre in Leamington.
